WHAT IS GETTING AHEAD?
Getting Ahead is a class designed to help you take a deeper look at your life, your goals, and the barriers that may be holding you back. Over 13 sessions, you’ll explore how poverty and instability impact you and your community and learn how to create a personal plan for a more stable, successful future. You’ll work alongside others in a safe, supportive setting, guided by trained facilitators, and leave with real tools, new insights, and the confidence to take your next steps.
CLASS DETAILS
→ Class starts on Thursday, February 12th
→ We will meet every Thursday from 5:30 – 8:30
→ Dinner and Childcare is included
→ Materials are provided
→ You receive a $25 HEB gift card at the end of each class
EXPLORE & DISCOVER
→ Explore your life, goals, and dreams
→ Learn how poverty affects individuals, families, and communities
→ Discover how to overcome roadblocks that hold you back
LEARN, PLAN & GROW
→ 18 or older, already out of high school and employed
→ Employed (full or part-time)
→ Struggling to get ahead, but not in active crisis
→ Willing to commit to attending the full program
→ Participate as an “investigator” with others in a classroom setting.
